Our week in Vegas was an eventful one. I had absolutely no idea what to expect going into Sin City, and going out of it, I still have no idea what to think. Don’t get me wrong, it was a ton of fun. I enjoyed myself, but I think I was ready to go by the end of it. I encountered lots of interesting people and saw many interesting things. The day we got there we got settled in and then went to the strip to eat and roam around. On Halloween day, we goofed off in a Party City before getting ready to go out. We went to a mall close to our RV Park so Eleanor could trick-or-treat. We received a few strange looks from people because my mom was dressed up as Napoleon Dynamite, wig and all, and my dad had this really creepy mask on. After our mall adventure, we decided to hit the strip again. It was quite the night. We were asked to go to a strip club. Some street performer flipped over me and 4 drunken guys. It was…. interesting. On another day we went to this place called Circus Circus. It is this hotel/ casino/ circus/ amusement park thing. We watched some trapeze artists, and my dad, Oliver, and I rode a couple of roller coasters. While we were in the city of Las Vegas, we went to see a show. It was Post Modern Jukebox. My family and I loved the show, and I was very impressed with the tap dancer. After our fascinating week, it was time to move into California.

Our first stop was in Chula Vista, which was a town right outside of San Diego and located 7 miles from the border. While we were there, my dad flew back home for a few days to check out our new house. With my dad gone the four of us roamed the city a little bit, and even ate a cupcake from this place that won Cupcake Wars©. When it was time to pick my dad up from the airport, we figured out how to take public transportation all the way across town and back. The next morning we awoke to find my mom bicycle missing. We were upset about it decided to start bringing our bikes inside the house at night. My family and I enjoyed the San Diego Zoo. I got to see a Panda Bear for the first time, so my week was complete. Eleanor ended up not feeling well, so Oliver, My dad and I went to check out a botanical garden, an art museum, and to go see a movie. On another day my parents decided to go run some errands and leave us kids at home. While they were gone, someone knocked on our door to let us know that someone had just stolen one of our bikes. I immediately called my dad to let them know what had happened, and they said they were heading home. On their way home they actually saw the guy on the bike. My dad pulled over, jumped out of the car, and full-on tackled the guy into the street. It was intense, but he got our bike back! After the incident, we decided to move RV Parks, so we headed a little North of town to a park in Santee. Once we moved, we went to check out La Jolla beach, and ended up eating at this super fancy restaurant we did not belong at. On one night, my mother and I went to see a fun play that we both enjoyed. Our time in San Diego was well spent.

We then made our way to a place my father had been dreading, Los Angeles. Mainly because he knew driving our big truck through the city would not be fun. Luckily, well maybe not, he got sick the second day there. Mama, Eleanor, and I spent our first full day in Los Angeles by touring Paramount Studios. I thoroughly enjoyed it. We also ate at the cute café called ‘Lemonade’, and it was delicious. We even saw the Hollywood sign. On another day, we went to Venice Beach. After eating, we went to the boardwalk. We watched a street performance that was pretty interesting. I enjoyed ‘The Broad’ museum quite a lot. It’s an art museum. On Thanksgiving Day, we went to the Santa Monica Pier, which was not as exciting as we thought it was going to be. We then drove around for a couple of hours before going to a restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner. I enjoyed seeing the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and we even went to see one of my parents’ friends. We met her at a place on the Venice Boardwalk, and hung out with her for the rest of the evening. Our week in Los Angeles was soon up and we left to spend the next two weeks in Pismo Beach, CA.

Our two weeks in Pismo were very laid back. We focused on school, and went on many walks. The town was very small, cozy you could say. We enjoyed watching the surfers sit and wait for waves, and walking up and down the pier. While in Pismo, we went and saw the new Nutcracker movie and the new Harry Potter, both which were good. Seeing the migrating Monarchs was really cool, even if I forgot a good lens to take pictures of them with.
The time spent in between Pismo and now was in the midst of the Redwood Forest. Our time there was truly magical. There is something truly refreshing about walking through a mystical forest. Since it is the rainy season, we spent most of our week muddy, but we were not complaining. The first time driving through the Avenue of the Giants was breathtaking. I think we all agreed when we said the Redwoods came a close second to Glacier in our favorite places. We visited Confusion Hill. To say the least, it was confusing. The lady working told us the place was located on top of a vortex/portal thing, and that she saw ghosts all the time. It was interesting, and she gave me a candy cane, so I wasn’t complaining. Once we made it to the National Park, we did a couple of hikes. One was 6.5 miles, and we did it in the pouring rain. Obviously, by the end of it I was a little sick of being drenched, but it was a fabulous hike.

It is now Thursday, December 20, 2018, yesterday we came to San Francisco where we drove our RV over the Golden Gate Bridge. We are here until January 2nd. It’s almost Christmas, which is absolutely insane to me. I haven’t really been in the Christmas spirit this year, as we are not home with friends and family. It is also not very cold, like it would be at home. It just has not felt right, but it’s all good with me. I’m not too worried about Christmas anyway. What I am SUPER excited about is how I’m going to see my cousins in 6 freaking days. To say I’m ecstatic is an understatement. I cannot wait. It is going to be such a good time. And that concludes this blog post. Hope you enjoyed the ride.
