Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica

Okay to be truly honest, I do not like beets, and I’ve never seen Battlestar Galactica. I just like alliterations, and Oliver and I played a game for 10 minutes yesterday coming up with all of the “B” words we could think of. Also I love The Office. We arrived in Yellowstone National Park four days ago. We have mostly loved it here, even if my dad has said once that he hates people, but if you know my dad that may not be too surprising. People can be very annoying, and we have come to the conclusion that people are just as savage and wild as the animals they shove their way through to take a picture of for Instagram. Not saying I wasn’t also one of those people taking a picture, because I was, but the fact that a moose caused a traffic jam today is crazy to me. I think that’s enough about how insane people are for today. We should move on to the beautiful Yellowstone National Park.

It is absolutely beautiful here, and I feel as if I keep saying that about everywhere we go, but it is the truth! Everywhere we go is very pretty. Yes it is very popular here, but it is truly stunning. My family and I find ourselves breathless by the views. Although it could just be the elevation, I’m pretty sure it is the landscape we have been taking in the days we have been here. Between the mountains and all of the different wildlife, I have just been in awe. I was also very cold the first couple of days. My family thought I was crazy, but I didn’t care because I was just cold. In my defense, there was snow on the mountain tops, we were in different elevations, and I can’t help my cold-nature.  The mountains are not only gorgeous, they are filled with wonderful wildlife. We have seen lots of Bison everywhere, two Moose, a coyote, Elk have visited us at our RV park, I absolutely love the chipmunks here, and we even saw a black bear. We obviously didn’t get close!! It was out in a field. We have been very careful about our bear safety since we are now in bear country. My mom has read us a book about bears and how to deal with/ protect ourselves/avoid bears.  My dad and Oliver are also always carrying the bear spray, which is a pepper spray for bears. We are also staying alert, looking for signs that a bear is near, and randomly clapping a lot. I don’t know if a bear would want to mess with us…. who am I kidding I would probably be sacrificed or something since I am the weakest link. Yes, Eleanor is stronger than me. It’s okay though, because I accept the fact and understand that she could beat me up if she wanted.

We had a magnificent time in Yellowstone. The RV park we stayed in had really great bathrooms, I was very excited about that fact not going to lie. We stayed in a nice little town, Gardiner, Montana. I liked it there, and it was right outside of the entrance to the park. We spent our days walking down to the cafe to get high-speed WIFI, and strawberry smoothies, hiking through the many trails in the 2.2 million acres of Yellowstone National Park, and looking for Big Horned sheep. ( we didn’t end up seeing one until we were leaving ) It was a great experience 10/10, even if my dad did wake me up at 5am one day.  Oh! Emma and I forgot our Wednesday facetime call and it was very dramatic. It’s okay though we did it the next day.

So sorry this one has been shorter. More to come!
