Moab

Hello!

Hope you are doing well. While we were in Park City, UT a couple of weeks ago, we all had a touch of something, but we are getting better. Park City is a pretty cool town. It is about 30 minutes from Salt Lake City. My grandparents drove out to see us for our duration of time spent in Park City. It was a ton of fun! My siblings and I stayed with them in their condo for the whole time. It was weird being in so much space. I think I was pretty glad when I got to sleep in my own bed again. The day my grandparents got to us, we went to the Main St., which was very cool looking, to watch people light their hot air balloon fires. We took many a trips to the Walmart while they were with us. It was a whole adventure in itself. We also enjoyed playing Phase 10, Sorry, and Jenga. On a few different days we drove to Salt Lake City. One day we had brunch at this place called “Finns.” We also happened to see East high, which is where they filmed High School Musical. My family made fun of me for the rest of the day because of how much I freaked out. That day, we also went to the Natural History Museum. It was a lot of fun. On another day, we went to the Planetarium, one of the coolest places, and to the zoo. We were very pleasantly surprised with the zoo. The animals were so active and happy. I even saw a Polar Bear for the first time. Soon it was time to leave Park City and head to Moab, UT, where more adventure awaited us.

Oliver and I Rode with my grandparents down to Moab, as they were staying with us for one more day. The last day we had with my grandparents was spent driving through Arches National Park.

I loved Arches National Park quite a lot. I had never been in a climate like it before, so it was very exciting for me. We had to be sure to bring lots of extra water because it was freaking hot and dry. On one hike I felt like I was just going to shrivel up and die. Okay that may be a little of an exaggeration, but you get the gist. I was also proud of myself as my dad, Oliver, and I climbed a wall to get to an arch. It was pretty radical, but then we realized that the other side of the arch was a trail with easy accessibility to the arch. Our way was cooler.

The town of Moab is also pretty cool. We really liked it there. Lots of restaurant options. One day, my mom and I went out for breakfast and went into some of the shops. My brother and dad also went on a couple of different days to ride their bikes on various bike trails. I think they enjoyed it even with their lack of experience.

One night, my family and I went into Canyonlands and looked at the stars. I had been looking forward to doing this since before we left on our trip, so I was very excited. I found myself lying on the ground in the middle of the road just staring up above me in awe. I saw a few shooting stars and just felt at ease. As if nothing else really mattered at that moment in time. We went into Canyonlands only one other time to do a two mile hike. It was cool, but I found myself liking Arches more.

Eleanor, of course, made ANOTHER friend. His name was Sam. He and his parents took us to this sick place where you could climb all over rock formations. They were very nice.
